About H.K. Steele

Since 1970, H.K. Steele has been meeting the aggregate material needs for construction projects in Columbia, South Carolina, and beyond. In those days, company founder Horace Steele was the owner and operator of an Esso Station in Triangle City when he recognized a need for dump trucks and hauling services for contractors and construction projects. He brought his vision for a higher level of customer service and material transportation to life through H.K. Steele, Inc.

When the company was only about two years old, James Black came on as an operator and dispatcher and remained a loyal team member and manager for 43 years. In 1996, N.W. White & Co. purchased H.K. Steele and continued to carry out Steele’s original vision for excellence. Today, the company is managed by Mike Menger. Menger and his team strive to foster relationships with their valued customers through a commitment to professionalism, dedication, integrity, safety, and respect.
